Coca Cola – 125th Year Exhibition

If you’re looking for an example as to present statistics in a way that will leave your audience in amazement, look no further than what Coca-cola did in Turkey for their 125 year anniversary. Created by the agency Antilop and designed specifiically for the Turkish modern art museum Santralistanbul, a section of the gallery was transformed into the ‘Future Room’, an immersive environment through a 270 degree projection system spanning 90 square meters.
Both awe-inspiring and aesthetically pleasing to look at, the ‘Future Room’ brings you through different time periods of Coca-cola’s live while creating a presentation that keeps you hooked until the end. Considering its scale, its unlikely that similar creations will be unveiled in different places around the world but its gives an idea as to how you can immerse people into a world where information and style combine seamlessly.

Coca-cola’s full video can be viewed on Antilop’s Vimeo page

Superbowl 2012

Last night over 80 million viewers tuned in to watch the American Superbowl. Football aside, the annual event is a great time to see some of the best commercials around for the first time, with advertisers paying millions of dollars for 30 second slots.

If you weren’t ambitious enough to spend the night glued to the tv you can view a range of the commercials on brandsoftheworld.com

Type in Motion

Opening credits for tv shows and movies have become more and more interesting over the past few years, mainly due to advancements in software and computer processing power. While watching a rerun of a Channel 4 programme (Misfits) I noticed they have a great opening sequence and decided to do a bit of research to see who is producing this type of work. In this case it was a company called MOMOCO and it turns out they produce a whole range of quality material that you have more than likely seen whilst channel hopping (Fresh Meat, Luther, Great Expectations to name a few).

They are a multi-award winning and BAFTA nominated studio that has been producing film and tv main titles for over 11 years and have gained international recognition for their sequences. Visit their Vimeo page to view a range of their projects.

Sport NI SAPAS Report

Brochure Cover DesignSport NI recently launched a report titled ‘ The Northern Ireland Sport And Physical Activity Survey (SAPAS)’ and 1440 were asked to produce a cover to reflect the document’s contents.

The report focuses on the contribution of sport and physical recreation towards the Chief Medical Officer’s (CMO) recommendations that adults should accumulate at least 30 minutes of moderate intensity activity on 5 or more days of the week. This is a baseline report providing, for the first time, a complete picture of adult participation in sport and physical activity across Northern Ireland.

Visit Sport Northern Ireland’s website to find out more on the report.

Their focus is on nurturing creativity through exploring music and technology in imaginative ways. 2011 International Blues on the Bay Festival

Blues on the Bay 2011 Review

Saturday 5th June at the Guinness Blues on the Bay Festival

Blues on the Bay 2011 Rab McCullough1440 took their annual trip down to Warrenpoint last Saturday to get a taste of what this years festival had to offer.

The day kicked off with a trip down Carlingford Lough in the impressive Tall Ship Antigua from Germany. Great cuisine was served up to the sounds of the Multicultural Blues & Jazz Initiative band, washed down with some German beer. The Gráinne Duffy Band followed next on stage where we got to hear some of her new material which was a real treat.

A few gigs followed in the various venues throughout Warrenpoint but the highlight of the evening was Rab McCullough, arguably one of the best blues guitarist in the world. Rab has shared the stage with the likes of Rory Gallagher, Van Morrison, Jimi Hendrix, ACDC and John Mayall and The Blues Breakers and is no stranger to the Blues Fest. If you like your blues and haven’t experienced the legend that is Rab be sure to get yourself down next year!

Thanks to Ian Sands for organising such an excellent festival – check out The Blues on the Bay web site for next year’s festival.
