Interactive Interfaces is a touring exhibition project where young people from either side of interfaces in Derry/Londonderry, Belfast and Portadown have created art, photography and film content to communicate their lived experiences in interface communities. 1440 were asked to produce material to promote the project and design a wall that captured peoples’ thoughts. It’s great to see the young people working together – the quality of the material they produced for the exhibition was excellent and we really enjoyed working on such an interesting project.

Ethnic Minority Support Centre Calendar

Newry & Mourne District Council recently approached us regarding the design and production of a calendar to promote the Ethnic Minority Support Centres run by the Council and showcase the work of various artists from Poland and Lithuania living in and around Newry.

Interactive Interfaces is an exhibition project where young people from either side of interfaces in Derry/Londonderry, Belfast and Portadown have created art, photography and film content to communicate their lived experiences in interface communities. The exhibition was launched last week in Red Barn Gallery and will be on display in a number of galleries and venues throughout 2012.

One of it’s aims is to encourage people to not only visit the exhibition, but also to respond – to touch, feel, record their reactions and thoughts, to dream … and thus to allow the exhibition to become a living entity, taking on a life of its own as it goes from one venue to the next.

Ipad 3

With the expected unveiling of the new ipad next week there has been much speculation over its new features. Aatma Studio has come up with their own ideas of what they would like to see in newer models and have produced a rather smart looking movie of how they could look. The features may seem a bit far fetched at this stage but with the rate technology is advancing its hard to see any reason why this sort of device could not be available to buy within the next few years.

Coca Cola – 125th Year Exhibition

If you’re looking for an example as to present statistics in a way that will leave your audience in amazement, look no further than what Coca-cola did in Turkey for their 125 year anniversary. Created by the agency Antilop and designed specifiically for the Turkish modern art museum Santralistanbul, a section of the gallery was transformed into the ‘Future Room’, an immersive environment through a 270 degree projection system spanning 90 square meters.
Both awe-inspiring and aesthetically pleasing to look at, the ‘Future Room’ brings you through different time periods of Coca-cola’s live while creating a presentation that keeps you hooked until the end. Considering its scale, its unlikely that similar creations will be unveiled in different places around the world but its gives an idea as to how you can immerse people into a world where information and style combine seamlessly.

MCL Employment Law

New branding and web site

1440 were asked to create a new brand and web site for MCL Associates, a company who provide specialist employment law advice, personnel consultancy, tribunal legal representation and insurance indemnity services throughout Northern Ireland and Scotland. Their aim is to minimise the impact on any business when dealing with employment law and personnel issues.

MCL were keen to get an online presence as soon as possible. Following an initial meeting, we put together a strong plan of how best to move forward with the design of the new corporate identity and set ourselves an organised structure of realistic deadlines for having phase one of the web site live within 10 working days.

Building the site on WordPress means that we can easily add content and build functionality into the site over the next few months as MCL develop additional material including a client log-in area that will provide resources for their customers. We will also be assisting MCL in designing and delivering an ongoing strategy for digital marketing through the continued development of their website, blog articles, online advertising and social media activities.

In addition to the website we will be finalising the corporate identity over the next few weeks with stationery and signage as the next elements.

10 Year Anniversary Website Redesign

As part of their tenth anniversary celebrations the Causeway Coast & Glens Heritage Trust (CCGHT) asked 1440 to create a refurbished website for ccght.org

The new-look website is fresh and exciting. It reflects CCGHT’s corporate responsibility and commitment to the promotion and protection of the Causeway Coast & Glens region. We have also introduced three unique, inspirational and informative micro sites, one for each of the three Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty along the North Coast – Binevenagh, Causeway Coast and the Antrim Coast & Glens.

The websites have a plethora of stunning images and a wealth of knowledge on the natural and cultural heritage of this uniquely outstanding region. As and when further funding becomes available CCGHT intends to build on the website, adding a Learning Zone for kids of all ages. So visit ccght.org regularly for updates!

Superbowl 2012

Last night over 80 million viewers tuned in to watch the American Superbowl. Football aside, the annual event is a great time to see some of the best commercials around for the first time, with advertisers paying millions of dollars for 30 second slots.

Type in Motion

Opening credits for tv shows and movies have become more and more interesting over the past few years, mainly due to advancements in software and computer processing power. While watching a rerun of a Channel 4 programme (Misfits) I noticed they have a great opening sequence and decided to do a bit of research to see who is producing this type of work. In this case it was a company called MOMOCO and it turns out they produce a whole range of quality material that you have more than likely seen whilst channel hopping (Fresh Meat, Luther, Great Expectations to name a few).

They are a multi-award winning and BAFTA nominated studio that has been producing film and tv main titles for over 11 years and have gained international recognition for their sequences. Visit their Vimeo page to view a range of their projects.
